Shakespeare’s Globe launches its 2010 Kings and Rogues theatre season on Shakespeare’s birthday, Friday 23 April, with Lucy Bailey’s production of Macbeth. Elliot Cowan, most recently seen in the Donmar’s award-winning A Streetcar Named Desire will play the title role, alongside Laura Rogers, a regular at the Globe in recent years, as Lady Macbeth. Award-winning choreographer Javier De Frutos will partner Lucy Bailey for the first time to evoke the primitive and violent climate of 11th Century Scotland, in Shakespeare’s bloody and gripping play.
